Robert
has grown into a much more relaxed adult who still loves
and respects Mother Nature and who adores escaping to the
country, from the city, to graciously accept the peace of
mind that the outdoors offer him.
Once
high school came to an end, Robert was forced to select
a field of interest in which to develop a career. This
was not easy. When he was a young boy, Robert wanted to
be an archeologist for the sheer excitement of uncovering
treasures, pirates gold, possibly King Tut, etc. However,
Robert soon learned that the archeologists themselves do
not get to keep the treasures they unearth….and his
dream quickly faded. A secondary interest to archeology
was to study and try to better understand the human condition.
Two compatible fields of study came to mind - Psychology
and Acting. Despite his complete inexperience in the field
and his family's desolate financial situation at the time,
Robert's mother (his most inspirational role model, to
this day) encouraged him to try acting, since he seemed
to show some passion towards the art form. Robert then
applied to the Dome Theatre (a 3-year career program offered
by Dawson College in Montreal) and received acceptance
into the program despite a self-proclaimed horrible audition.
The three years spent in the Dome theater program proved
to be the three most grueling and taxing years of Robert's
young life; and ultimately, the most rewarding. Robert
discovered a true sense of self through acting.
Since
graduating from the Dome Theater Program at Dawson College
in 2000, Robert has been acting in episodic television,
television commercials, theater and film in and around
the Montreal area. Robert has appeared in the television
series "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" (Nickolodeon/Cinar
Films) and "Live Through This" (MTV / Telescene
Film Group), as well as in the film "Varian's War" starring
William Hurt and Julia Ormond (Showtime Entertainment).
Robert's most recent work was as a recurring lead character
on the popular television series "The Never Ending
Story" (Muse Entertainment / Hallmark Entertainment).
Robert
loves working in theater for its immediate human response/energy
but also loves working in film and television for its power
to weave subtlety.
Some
of Robert's role models in the field of acting are: Brad
Pitt, Edward Norton, Billy Crudup, Gary Oldman, Johnny
Depp, and Ethan Hawke
Robert
is a firm believer in the power that our imaginations have,
to give us perspectives on life other than those that are
immediate and common to us.
