Susie
has always been interested in many different things at the
same time and she was raised to feel that she could accomplish
anything that she set her heart to. Susie likens her life
to "a crazy quilt".
Susie
studied History and Computer Literature before attending
The Rhode Island School of Design, where she emerged with
a degree in Costume Design. The summer of Susie's graduation
from The Rhode Island School of Design, she met and fell
in love with a Quebecois sailor and they sailed on his
fishing schooner to Canada. Susie has been in Canada ever
since.
At
age 21, Susie applied for a job as a Costume Designer for
a theatre project. Susie landed the Costume Designer job
but only because the Director thought that Susie was perfect
for one of the lead roles of Desdemona in her upcoming
play "Othello". Susie was reluctant to take the
role but the Director coached her patiently for months
and Susie finally played that role. The performances of
that particular play still remain some of the most memorable
moments, for Susie, of her life. Soon, Susie found herself
in Montreal designing clothes when once again she was asked
to play a lead role, this time in a short film. After her
work in that short film, Susie decided that she was enjoying
her work in acting and that she should get an agent. Susie
immediately began landing roles in film, television and
theatre productions. Susie has gone on to perform as a
lead or principle character in numerous theatre and television
productions, as well as many feature films such as: "Fish
out of Water" (Melleny Productions), "This is
My Father", starring James Caan (Filmline), "Affliction",
starring Nick Nolte and James Coburn (Tormenta Productions)
and "Varian's War", starring William Hurt and
Julia Ormond (Showtime Entertainment).

Susie
enjoys partaking in character driven stories involving
some form of emotional or intellectual beauty. "I
am growing tired of films that exploit the cynical and
the seedy aspects of human nature. But, I suppose it is
often easier and more commercially viable to provoke with
ugliness rather than to delight with beauty", says
Susie.
Susie
is now married to a French Canadian Holistic m.d. and she
has two children. Susie and her family live in St. Marc,
Quebec, Canada (about 40 minutes outside of downtown Montreal).
Susie has come to appreciate acting even more after the
births of her children because of the time it affords her
between jobs to raise her family. Moreover, Susie feels
that raising her family has provided her with a wealth
of emotional riches to mine as an actor.
