However,
her quest to pursue her passion in acting would have to wait
as her parents forbade her to attend R.A.D.A. Instead, Sheena
returned to Belfast where she attended Physical Education
College; a much more stable and proper education than one
in acting, in her parents' view.
Sheena
dropped out of Physical Education College after one year
in order to go on the road with the last play produced
by a relatively famous theater company named "The
Ulster Theater Company". Sheena had been acting at
an amateur level throughout much of her schooling years
and she had taken some private drama and elocution classes,
but the Ulster Theater Company play was her first professional
acting job.

Sheena
soon went on to become an announcer for the local (Ulster)
television station. As her contract with the television
station was coming to an end, Sheena's sister (who had
immigrated to Canada) announced that she would be getting
married and she wanted Sheena to be her bride's maid. Sheena
accepted the invitation and decided that she would stay
in Canada for six months after the wedding. Thirty-five
years later, Sheena is still in Canada.
Sheena's
first job in Canada was as an English teacher in the predominantly
French City of St-Hyacinthe, Quebec. Sheena did her best
to learn the French language as fast as possible. Sheena
worked at La Poudriere Theater Company and then at The
Piggery in North Hatley, Quebec before being noticed and
lured by Jean Gascon to go to Stratford where she spent
two seasons acting. Sheena continued to work in theater
across the country from Halifax to Edmonton to Ottawa to
Knowlton and finally to Montreal. During these years spent
travelling across the country, Sheena also developed more
and more experience acting in film and television. Sheena
has now appeared as a principle or lead character in over
40 feature film and television projects including: "The
Sum of All Fears", starring Ben Affleck and Morgan
Freeman (Paramount Pictures), "Abandon" (Paramount
Pictures), "Varian's War", starring William Hurt
and Julia Ormond (Showtime Entertainment), "Affliction",
starring Nick Nolte and James Coburn (Tormenta Productions),
and "The Boys of St. Vincent" (National Film
Board of Canada). Sheena has grown to really appreciate
and respect the mediums of film and television over the
years and she says that she would most probably be considered
a character actress by industry standards.
Life
these days has slowed down considerably for Sheena since
the death of her husband recently. Sheena is now quite
content to stay at home (St-Mathias. Approximately 40 minutes
outside of downtown Montreal) and tend to her garden, her
old country home and her dog and cat. However, Sheena admits, "It
only takes the faintest scent of an interesting project
to lure me away from the country and towards another wonderful
acting experience".
